Research

Partly in cooperation with several other researchers I currently pursue the following projects:

  • Comparative studies of concepts and methods of the evolutionary sciences
  • Driving forces and mechanisms of economic evolution in the short and very long run
  • The motivational underpinnings of economic behavior
  • Economic growth, the evolution of consumption and Policy designs for reaching sustainable consumption patterns
  • Welfare and "progress" under conditions of unfolding preferences
  • The influence of changing energy costs on the changes of value added and employment shares of the sectors of the economy
  • The evolutionary perspective on the political economy of the Euro-crisis
  • Individual adaptation and the growth process of firm organizations
